A leading consultancy is seeking an accomplished Regional Director of Building Surveying to spearhead its East Midlands operations. This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for an experienced professional who excels in delivery, team leadership, work winning and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead and inspire Building Surveying teams across the East Midlands.
  • Oversee the delivery of consultancy and surveying projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure exceptional service quality, acting as a senior point of contact for key clients.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and performance management to team members.

Work Winning & Business Growth

  • Drive regional business development and identify new market opportunities.
  • Lead bid submissions, tenders and client-facing proposals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences and networking forums.

Strategic Contribution

  • Play a central role in shaping long-term regional and national business plans.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, integrated solutions.
  • Support the expansion of emerging service lines, including Net Zero & Sustainability
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes and best practice.

Candidate Profile

The organisation is seeking an individual who brings:

  • A recognised construction qualification and professional accreditation (e.g. RICS).
  • Experience leading consultancy teams and delivering complex building surveying projects.
  • A strong track record in work winning, client development and commercial growth.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at a senior level.
  • A proactive, collaborative leadership style.
  • A full driving licence and regional mobility.

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions. Working in schools we take part in the Urban Plan Educational workshops programme, which has now reached more than 2,500 pupils in 100 schools since its launch. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.
