Opportunity:

An established multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in environment-led planning and design is seeking an experienced Associate / Technical Director of Arboriculture to lead and expand their national arboricultural consultancy team. This role offers the opportunity to work from either London or Cambridge and is ideal for professionals passionate about leadership, autonomy, and team development.

As a key member of the team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of arboricultural consultancy within a dynamic and growing organisation.

Responsibility:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and grow a national arboricultural consultancy team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous professional development.
  • Project Oversight: Take a leadership role in planning projects, coordinating and overseeing delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with best practices and relevant British Standards.
  • Business Development: Actively engage in business development by building upon existing client relationships and seeking new opportunities to expand the arboricultural service offering.
  • Technical Excellence: Provide technical input into projects and bids, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and policies, and maintaining a high standard of technical delivery.
  • Strategic Input: Contribute to the development of team objectives, delegate effectively, and make decisions that align with the overall business strategy.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Over 10 years of relevant experience in arboriculture consultancy, with a proven track record in project delivery and team management.
  • Qualifications: BSc, Masters, MArborA, or CEnv preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, set goals, and manage performance effectively.
  • Client Management: Strong client relationship management skills, with experience in winning new work and maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and policy, with the ability to undertake complex technical work and review deliverables produced by the team.
  • Additional Requirements: Full, clean UK driving licence and ownership/use of a car with business insurance.

Urban Land Institute.

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions. Working in schools we take part in the Urban Plan Educational workshops programme, which has now reached more than 2,500 pupils in 100 schools since its launch. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.



Carbon Footprint.
