Opportunity:

Looking to join an internationally recognised firm? With an established team undertaking meaningful work for a company that prioritises it's employees? If so, this latest Associate Ecologist role could be the role for you! Our client is looking to bring in an experienced ecologist to take on an Associate level position, reporting into the Director and Regional Director of Ecology, they will be taking on a variety of impactful projects collaborating across multiple disciplines to promote synergy between teams. As Associate Ecologist, you will be based out of the Leeds office, working with the Manchester team to develop the existing pipeline with work across the Yorkshire area, helping to ensure that no two days are the same for you or your team.

Responsibility:

As the new Associate Ecologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing & reviewing a variety of reports including PEAs, BNG, HRAs, EcIAs and Ecology Chapters.
  • Liaising with key clients and stakeholders, acting as a professional point of advice on matters of ecology, mitigation and new opportunities for development.
  • Leading, managing and mentoring your own team.
  • Planning and executing a variety of ecological surveys
  • Developing and maintaining new and existing relationships with current and prospective clients to ensure a steady pipeline of work.

Requirements:

To be considered for this Associate Ecologist role, you will need to meet as much of the following as possible:

  • Hold a full CIEEM membership with evidence of working towards Chartership.
  • Strong experience with a variety of surveys, reports and assessments e.g. UKHabs, protected species, botanical assessment etc.
  • Familiar with EIAs, HRAs and the planning system.
  • Hold at least one protected species license (more is desirable).
  • Experienced leading on larger-scale projects as a project leader/director.
  • Hold a full UK drivers license.

Urban Land Institute.

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions. Working in schools we take part in the Urban Plan Educational workshops programme, which has now reached more than 2,500 pupils in 100 schools since its launch. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.
