Celebrating Five Promotions at Mattinson Partnership

We are pleased to announce five promotions at Mattinson Partnership, please join us in congratulating:

  • Tom Howell to Principal Consultant
  • Luke Marron and Matthew Strong to Senior Consultant; and
  • Jade Warren and Alexandra Goodman to Consultant

The market has changed drastically since our inception in 2004, but our ambition, commitment to sustainability and our desire to become an industry leader as a ‘recruitment agency of choice’ for the natural and built environment, has never waivered.

The people who join our team are what makes Mattinson Partnership what it is today. Being able to grow a team, and a company, with people who are just as passionate about the sector they recruit in, as they are about the company they work for, is something that every business strives for, and we are very proud of the team we have.

Of those whom we have the pleasure of promoting this week, some have been with us for several years, and some have merely joined us in the past few months, but no matter how long they’ve been part of our company, they have all achieved a great deal with us.

Tom Howell, Principal Consultant

Tom joined the team back in early 2019 and has over 10 years’ experience within recruitment and a further five and half years in property. Originally leading the Surveying and Property desk, Tom took on the Town Planning desk in August 2021 and has helped to continue the growth of the division.

“A big thank you to David and Dom for helping me with my journey from Consultant to Principal over the last three and half years. As we all know, there have been many ups and downs recently, but individually, and working as part of a team, I have enjoyed being part of an expanding and ambitious company that I am sure will continue to go from strength-to-strength over the foreseeable future.

I’m delighted to take my career to the next level and look forward to building the reputation of the Surveying and Planning desk, cementing Mattinson Partnership as UK market leaders in these fields of work.”

Luke Marron, Senior Consultant

Joining the company in March 2021, Luke joined us after completing his Bachelor in Business Studies in Dublin and now recruits across the built environment within design, focusing on Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and BIM.

“Since joining in March 2021 I have had the opportunity to work on both the Civil and Structural Engineering desk as well as Urban Design which have helped me to grow my skills and industry knowledge. In this new role I am looking forward to taking on more responsibility with junior members of staff and helping them develop into consultants.”

Matthew Strong, Senior Consultant

Matthew recently celebrated his one year work anniversary with Mattinson Partnership and now starts his second year with us as Senior Consultant with the ESG space. ESG is an innovative industry which is vital to all areas of industry from finance to the built environment and beyond and is an exciting move for Mattinson Partnership.

“Moving to Senior Consultant has been a very smooth transition which I have been supported with every step of the way. It is a great opportunity to grow and develop, and the autonomy we are given leaves it mostly in my hands.”

Jade Warren, Consultant

Just a short five months into her career with us, Jade has joined the Environmental team, working with companies across the UK to recruit Ecologists, EIA Consultants and air quality professionals, just to name a few. An extensive and diverse industry to recruit into, Jade has taken like a duck to water as a trainee consultant and has worked hard to integrate herself within the industry and build relationships with candidates and clients.

“My time at Mattinson Partnership has been fun and fast-paced, and it feels great to have my efforts rewarded with a promotion. I’ve learnt a lot about the sector I recruit within and developed more general skills such as time management and organisation. I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds while I continue to develop my skills and knowledge!”

Alexandra Goodman, Consultant

After graduating from Royal Holloway, University of London with a BA in Geography in July, Alexandra has focused her efforts across the Sustainability and Energy sector to recruit professionals within ESG, energy management, EIA and BREEAM.

“I joined only a couple months ago and it’s great to see a promotion so quickly! Both David and Dom have supported me from the transition out of university and into the workplace, providing me with the skills and confidence to build the Sustainability and Energy desk at Mattinson Partnership. I am delighted to take the next step in my career!”

We are proud partners of The London Wildlife Trust, a charity dedicated to protecting the wildlife and wild spaces of London by driving environmental projects throughout the city. Our team often get involved at ground level in Wild Workdays by helping to maintain and restore treasured spaces and land… we love to get our hands dirty! We also run multiple interactive workshops, providing their conservation trainees with invaluable career advice and insights into the environmental sector to prepare them for employment. Most recently, we worked with young people taking part in their Keeping it Wild programme, which engages young people from backgrounds currently under-represented in nature conservation.

Royal Town Planning Institute.

The RTPI represents planning professionals in the UK and Ireland and aims to encourage the development of vibrant and prosperous places and communities. Our Senior Consultant Freddie enthusiastically attends the annual Planning Convention, and we host several events throughout the year to show our support, including drinks networking and a literal pub quiz. We also keep in close contact with our friends down under, at the Planning Institute Australia and New Zealand Planning Institute. In addition, we sponsor the London Planning Summit, an event designed to address the biggest challenges facing the industry. This is our opportunity to stay on top of the latest changes in town planning by meeting with other key professionals in the sector, while celebrating our achievements.

Land Securities Group Plc.

One of our clients, LandSec, are the clever people behind Girls Can Do It Too, an initiative designed to encourage girls to consider a career in construction. Currently, only 11% of the construction workforce are female, and LandSec are attempting to increase this number by providing education and engagement projects and workshops for girls aged 11-13. Featuring workshops on demolition and tower building, as well as challenging the girls to design a planning project of their own (with a focus on budgeting and environmental considerations), LandSec have proven their dedication to addressing the need for diversity in this very male dominated industry. Ruth assists the project by sharing her fascinating insights into the industry and is even on the project judging panel!

Working in schools we take part in the Urban Plan Educational workshops programme, which has now reached more than 2,500 pupils in 100 schools since its launch. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.

Carbon Footprint.

Carbon FootprintTM works to help organisations offset their CO2 through tree planting and community projects worldwide. By partnering with Carbon FootprintTM, we have planted native trees and shrubs such as Whitebeam, Hazel, Field Maple, Silver Birch, Rowan, Beech, Blackthorn, Holly and Dog Rose to create a Mattinson Forest that spreads across South East England. Carbon FootprintTM work in conjunction with the Florestal Santa Maria Project (FSM-Redd Project), designed to reduce deforestation in the Amazonian Rainforest. So, for every tree we plant in the UK we guarantee a tonne of CO₂ offset in Brazil too. Carbon FootprintTM have allowed us to not only do our bit for the environment but also commemorate moments of growth for our clients and candidates.
