We currently have an opportunity for experienced Senior Environmental Consultant (EIA) to join the Edinburgh office of an international multidisciplinary firm. The successful candidate will work within the Environmental Planning team and be responsible for coordinating and reviewing EIA's for a range of prestigious projects spanning infrastructure, property, energy, ports & harbours and renewables. You will join an established and globally respected business working in collaboration with environmental and engineering specialists across the UK to manage major schemes through the environmental consenting process.

Responsibilities:

  • Project manage the delivery of EIAs for a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure, property, renewables and energy schemes
  • Provide direction of desk based studies and coordinate site surveys and data collection exercises
  • Liaise with clients and project teams to ensure delivery of projects to time and budgetary constraints
  • Manage and mentor more junior staff members
  • Represent the company in public consultations and stakeholder meetings and contribute towards business development

Skills Profile:

  • Degree or Masters in a relevant environmental discipline (e.g. Environmental Science, Environmental Management)
  • Demonstrable experience of EIA project management within a consultancy or developer
  • Specialist knowledge of a specific discipline (e.g ecology, ornithology) is desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of the EIA consenting process with respect to UK best practice and regulations
  • Experience of working with statutory authorities (e.g. SNH, Natural England and MMP Marine Scotland) is desirable
  • Excellent written/ verbal communicative and client facing skills

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.
