We are supporting a leading global multidisciplinary consultancy to appoint a consultant level Flood Risk Economist into their Flood and Coastal Risk Management team.

As a consultant or senior consultant you will specialise in flood economic analysis, working alongside the Lead Flood Risk Economist to support the economic assessment of flood defence and mitigation schemes. Although ideally this position will be based from the north (Leeds, Manchester or Sheffield) there is also scope for someone to join the London team.

What will you do?

As part of your brief, you will have the opportunity to;

  • Work closely with the existing flood risk team of hydraulic modellers, civil engineers and flood risk specialists
  • Undertake Socio economic analysis and Cost benefit analysis
  • Provide input to bids
  • Undertake optioneering
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Knowledge share

What experience do you need?

  • Degree qualitied
  • Experience of working with the Environment Agency, developers or Local Authorities
  • Good GIS skills
  • Technical skill in economics (including associated software packages)
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
  • Experience of technical reviewing colleagues work.

Urban Land Institute.

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions. Working in schools we take part in the Urban Plan Educational workshops programme, which has now reached more than 2,500 pupils in 100 schools since its launch. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.
