An American Asset Management Company have just set up a new office in the UK and are now acquiring sites nationally. They also have a debt financing part of the business and are actively looking for JV partners in the UK across all asset classes. They are looking for a Finance and Investment Director to join a team of 2 and to work across the UK and the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead individual on all matters relating to financial reporting and financial compliance in the UK.
  • Supporting the UK Managing Directors with investment analysis of acquisitions, leasing and disposals.
  • Supporting UK Managing Directors and US Investor Relations team with capital raising in the UK.
  • Oversight of external UK Accountants, Asset Managers and Property Managers across the company's assets to ensure they are complying with all finance requirements, including preparation of annual statutory accounts.
  • Working alongside US finance and investment team colleagues to ensure that financial reporting is carried out accurately and in accordance with required timeframes.
  • Maintaining trackers and schedules of tenancy information, keeping them up to date and ensuring that the e-filing system is also kept up to date.
  • Overseeing reporting to the banks, liaising with the facility and security agents (where needed) as well as the banks directly to ensure all necessary information is provided within the required timeframes.
  • Checking the External Managing Agents process of rent collection and preparation of service charge accounts in a timely manner adhering to the relevant guidance.
  • Overseeing the external Managing Agent's with reconciling bank accounts, debtors and creditors and addressing with any discrepancies.
  • Ensuring adequate finance procedures are in place and implementing improved procedures where necessary.

Experience, Qualifications & Skills:

  • Motivated self-starter with a can-do, positive attitude.
  • Not less than 5yrs as a finance professional in a commercial or residential real estate business.
  • Comfortable working within a small, fast-paced team.
  • Highly competent in Excel (and preferably appraisal tools such as Argus).
  • Degree level qualification.
  • Relevant Professional accreditation with AAT qualification as a minimum; (ACCA, ACA or CIMA all preferable)
  • Significant experience using Yardi and other online reporting systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with accounting for VAT, property taxes and service charges
  • Knowledge of UK & USA taxation regimes, both personal and corporate (preferable but not required).
