The opportunity:

A leading multidisciplinary consultancies in the UK is actively looking for a Senior Ecologist to join their team and start working on some large scale, exciting projects in Birmingham. You will have the chance to grow the ecology team and have your own personal input on a number of projects.

The role

Your role will include on-site surveys, inspections and watching briefs. You will be expected to provide support and advice to sub-contractors and environmental agencies when required, and provide practical advice on legal requirements on the projects so you must be well versed in environmental legislations and policies. You will be expected to produce reports and other required documentation, and investigate and report any ecological incidents.

Key skills and Experience:

  • CIEEM Membership
  • Degree/Masters level degree in Ecological related subject (ecology, environmental science etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of ecological management and mitigation
  • Full UK drivers licence and flexibility to travel
  • Experience of working on large scale infrastructure/highway projects
  • Excellent understanding of the utilities/construction/engineering operating environment
  • Understanding/experience of environmental management for construction sites
  • Literate in MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook

We are proud partners of The London Wildlife Trust, a charity dedicated to protecting the wildlife and wild spaces of London by driving environmental projects throughout the city. Our team often get involved at ground level in Wild Workdays by helping to maintain and restore treasured spaces and land… we love to get our hands dirty! Royal Town Planning Institute.

The RTPI represents planning professionals in the UK and Ireland and aims to encourage the development of vibrant and prosperous places and communities. Our Senior Consultant Freddie enthusiastically attends the annual Planning Convention, and we host several events throughout the year to show our support, including drinks networking and a literal pub quiz. Urban Land Institute.

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions. Working in schools we take part in the Urban Plan Educational workshops programme, which has now reached more than 2,500 pupils in 100 schools since its launch. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.
