Opportunity:

Are you an experienced Ecology Consultant looking to move up into a Senior Ecologist position? If yes, this could be the ideal position for you as our client is looking to expand their ecology team and bring in a Senior Ecologist to assist in the delivery of top-quality ecology deliverables. Our client is a massive, internationally recognised environmental consultancy who provide high-end consulting on matters such as ecology, planning, design & implementation and engineering. As the new Senior Ecologist, you'll be working to ensure that projects undertaken aren't detrimental to the environment and biodiversity is protected. You'll have the chance to work across a multitude of sectors, including infrastructure, residential, energy and government services to name a few.

Responsibility:

As the new Senior Ecologist, you will be expected to:

  • Plan & lead on ecological surveys, assessments and ecological appraisals, overseeing the appropriate collection of data and providing expert technical guidance when needed
  • Produce high- quality written work - Detailed reports, mitigation strategies, habitat assessments and protected species licenses for a range of species and habitats. Any experience with Ecology chapters for EIAs and/or Habitat Regulation Assessments
  • Prepare fee proposals for the variety of ecological services provided on behalf of the company
  • Have experience with Project Management, handling all steps from initial planning through to completion and ensuring timelines are met and budgets are assigned appropriately
  • Take on a mentoring role, providing guidance to the junior staff and assisting them throughout their early career
  • Handle client relations, working closely with key stakeholders and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients

Requirements:

To be considered for this Senior Ecologist position, you should aim to meet as much as possible of the following:

  • At least 3-4 years of experience as an Ecological Consultant
  • Hold an Associate Membership of CIEEM
  • Strong experience with conducting a wide range of surveys and assessments and producing subsequent reports from the data gathered
  • Hold a full, UK drivers' license
  • Protected species license and FISC certifications aren't necessary but highly desirable

Urban Land Institute.

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions. Working in schools we take part in the Urban Plan Educational workshops programme, which has now reached more than 2,500 pupils in 100 schools since its launch. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.
