A London Borough is on the lookout for an Experienced Senior Building Control Surveyor. This hybrid role spans 3 to 6 months, with a good chance of becoming permanent.

You'll oversee an area to ensure compliance with building control legislation, from reviewing and approving building plans to site inspections and advising on compliance issues. Safety is key throughout the entire building process.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert advice on the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations.

- Undertake plan checks and review designs for compliance.

- Attend client and design team meetings, providing professional advice.

- Conduct inspections at key stages of the design process.

- Build and maintain strong client relationships.

- Produce end-of-design stage reports and maintain trackers.

- Contribute to bid submissions and fee proposals.

Key Criteria

- 5 years plus relevant experience in a similar role.

- In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations, codes, and associated legislation.

- Experience working across multiple projects.

- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.

- Membership of RICS, CABE, or CIOB is highly desirable.

- Proficiency in software such as SharePoint.

- Willingness to travel for project meetings and site inspections.

An immediate start is required, with a salary around £60 p/h (umbrella rate), based on experience.

Urban Land Institute.

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions. Working in schools we take part in the Urban Plan Educational workshops programme, which has now reached more than 2,500 pupils in 100 schools since its launch. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.
