My client is looking for a rail performance modelling and analysis consultant. The work will involve developing approaches to model the impact of performance initiatives (e.g. changes in rolling stock, infrastructure and timetables) on the passenger as well as on industry finances.

You will need to manage the performance modelling projects and workstreams on behalf of Government bodies, train operating companies and infrastructure managers.

You must have a proven record of working with complex modelling skills and data analytics so that you can develop methodologies, solve complex problems and to clearly communicate their findings to their team and senior individuals within the company and client groups.


  • Have a strong interest in and understanding of the rail sector and willingness to gain experience of working on commercial and strategic issues within it
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the key factors that affect the operating performance of railway systems in the UK and have experience of analysing and modelling rail performance
  • Be highly numerate and demonstrate excellent analytical skills including those in data manipulation, analysis and modelling using Microsoft Excel and database tools
  • Have experience of reviewing and sense-checking their own work and that of others
  • Able to write and present information in a well-structured and logical way
  • Demonstrate experience in successfully managing small-medium sized projects or workstreams on larger projects
  • Have experience in developing effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and potential clients, and assist in the development of the business

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions.
