A leading multidisciplinary who operate both in the UK and internationally are seeking a Design Manager at Associate Director level to join their highly successful team.

Operating in London or Birmingham, you'll provide a supportive role to the wider planning, design & transport team on large scale developments. The work will be conducting site visits and writing reports on ongoing projects - no longer impacting the initially design of buildings, you'll project manage the construction process form the design angle.

Around 50% of the work you'll be delivering will in the defence industry, with the rest split across major residential, commercial and mixed use projects. There are no work winning responsibilities when initially coming into this role, though bringing that skillset or client base would be preferable. You will have managerial duties, leading teams on major projects.

The 100 strong team in planning, design & transport work of a wide array of developments focussed on work in the UK. They have a vibrant office space in a prestigious location in London, but offer the opportunity to work in Birmingham also. Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong experience in the architecture industry (Part 3 or ARB), preferably with some experience working as a design manager.
  • Expertise leading projects, and working on developments from concept to completion.
  • Knowledge of the UK architecture & construction industry.
  • Minimum 5 years working in the UK.

Urban Land Institute.

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions. Working in schools we take part in the Urban Plan Educational workshops programme, which has now reached more than 2,500 pupils in 100 schools since its launch. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.
