An innovative market leader within the energy management procurement industry are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager. If you have the ability to create and grow a long-term portfolio of medium to large commercial energy users, have experience of exceptional customer focused sales and are looking for a career-defining move, this could be the opportunity for you.

Role & Company:

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for selling market leading Energy Procurement and Energy Management solutions to a wide range of market and corporate clients.

You will be accountable for managing a strong sales pipeline, focusing on developing predetermined regional and sector clusters with a consistent and strategic sales approach. You will be accountable for acquiring new customers as well as pipeline development via networking, prospecting and the utilisation of in-house appointment teams. You will also be responsible for negotiating with a broad range of clients including Business Owners, Directors, Finance, Procurement and Energy Managers in order to maximise commercial terms.

Day to day, you will be creating bespoke sales collateral using the company template library and in-house resources to engage and convert prospects into customers. Using the company CRM platform, you will update and manage the progression of activities from opportunity creation to close.

Qualifications & Experience:

This role is suited for an out-going individual, with the ability to influence at all levels and to harness and generate introductions from a wide range of stakeholders. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A proven track record of high achievement in winning business (essential)
  • Proven field sales experience (essential)
  • An understanding of how energy markets operate impacting prices & knowledge of non-commodity prices
  • Experience of selling added value energy management solutions to energy users and multi-site clients
  • A positive and confident personality with excellent communication skills

Urban Land Institute.

In partnership with Urban Land Institute we are able to play an imperative role in creating a larger and more diverse pool of candidates within the planning & property professions. Working in schools we take part in the Urban Plan Educational workshops programme, which has now reached more than 2,500 pupils in 100 schools since its launch. Alongside more than 200 industry volunteers engaged across the country, we provide invaluable industry & careers advice to students while guiding them through their workshops and helping judge their presentations.
