One of the UK’s leading companies in the infrastructure and energy sector is expanding and are looking for an Environmental Permitting Consultant to join their growing team in the Warwickshire and Yorkshire areas. Role & Company:
In your role as an Environmental Permitting Consultant you will prepare environment permit applications and seek out innovative approaches to projects. You will be the liaison with the clients and regulatory authorities, providing support during the creation and maintenance of the environmental management system, ensuring the permits are correctly upheld.
From day to day expect to be working as a part of a tight knit team and collaborating with other multidisciplinary colleagues, preparing both factual and interpretive reports on waste permitting, with a focus on energy from waste schemes, transfer stations and landfills.
Supporting clients and project managers is paramount in the role, along with a flair for winning work and ensuring successful execution and delivery of each project.
Qualifications & Experience:
Having experience already in environmental permits within environmental consultancy, ideal candidates will also have;
- BSc qualification in the environmental sciences/chemistry or an appropriate engineering subject
- Knowledge of COMAH, energy management/emissions trading, air/water/waste management and/or carbon management.
- An understanding of ISO 14001 and the UK planning and regulatory system
- Good GIS and IT skills
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to build rapport with customers and clients
- A full UK drivers licence
