Job title: Transportation Expert – Bus Operations

Location: Dubai

Salary/ rate: £80,000 - £100,000pyr

Introduction

Our client is responsible for the planning and operation of transport, roads & traffic in Dubai. They are looking for a transportation expert specializing in Bus service operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, monitoring and operation of Dubai’s public bus service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for bus service/ operation and create a trend for monitoring the KPI measures.
• Ensure that bus reliability, availability, maintainability and safety issues are taken into account in the planning of new projects.
• Provide an independent review and audit of the bus company in terms of its resource capability, competency, and ability to deliver technical projects.
• Review project reports submitted to CEO by departments to ensure the quality and accuracy of reports.
• Providing support to all of the bus company departments in regard to management, administrative and operational KPIs to ensure they understand strategic intents and objectives and are aware of targets.
• Undertake public transport presentations
• Write technical papers in international conferences
• Study and review Public Transport Strategies and long-term planning such as Emeritisation, training, Operation and Maintenance.
• Assist in the preparation of project plans and specifications when appropriate.
• Provide an independent review and audit of Public Transport departments in terms of its resource capability, competency, and ability to deliver the Public Transport projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Must be degree qualified (ideally MSc)
• At least 10 years of Bus experience, including:

• Operational
• Commercial
• Budgetary (profit and loss)
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering (maintaining and servicing)

• Auditing financial reports
• Writing for publication
• Coaching individuals
• Managing an organization
