We are currently working with an international firm of engineering, management and development consultants who employee staff in numerous countries worldwide.

They are currently seeking a Smarter Choices Travel Planner to join their Integrated Transport Division.

Responsibilities:

We are currently looking for a graduate educated Smarter Choices Travel Planner to assist in the delivery of the company’s existing portfolio of work and build on the continuing success and growth of our national and international business. The Integrated Transport team has worked on some major projects in West Midlands and further afield.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of an established team. The position will play an important role in delivering a wide range of high-profile transport planning projects, with a specific focus on sustainable travel and smarter choices. The role will provide an opportunity to expand skills in the transport planning fields.

Involvement in a range of challenging smarter choices schemes
Supporting the existing team on current sustainable transport and smarter travel work
Supporting the team in growing the sustainable transport / smarter choices work
Liaison with clients and other stakeholders on a range of projects, with a particular emphasis on travel planning / development planning and smarter choices issues
Undertaking elements of projects from instruction through to completion including general project financial management and co-ordination
Preparation of technical feasibility reports
Liaison with other teams (possibly in different offices), specialists and other third parties
Working with team members on all aspects of bid writing and business development

Qualifications / Experience:

Candidates will be degree educated. Ideally they will hold a post graduate qualification in transport planning or transport engineering. They will have at least three years of experience in transport planning. Ideally with a focus on smarter choices/ travel planning and transport planning.

The successful candidate will be:

Able to demonstrate some experience in the successful delivery of smarter choices and transport planning projects with and emphasis on travel planning / development planning and smarter travel
Strong report writing skills
A team player, who is motivated and possesses very good interpersonal and organisational skills
Dedicated to the delivery of projects and the development of the business as a whole.
Be proactive about solving complex problems and relish identifying new innovative solutions
Have excellent communication skills and be comfortable engaging with clients and other stakeholders
Able to apply good analytical and numeric skills to project work
Be flexible over the type and nature of work and be willing to travel within the UK or overseas if the need arises
